Creative, understanding psychotherapy to help you grow

About me

Hi, my name is Weronika and I am a drama psychotherapist specialising in trauma and personal healing.

I imagine you have landed here hoping that you find someone who can help you on your personal journey. I may not know you yet, but I know you are brave to be here and I hope you find what you are looking for. Let me tell you about myself.

As a dramatherapist, I am interested in the story of YOU; what makes you feel, think and dream. This also means I want to hear about the sad parts of your story, and help you make sense of them.

We can use stories, objects, art materials, and play together to understand your internal world and how you can begin to flourish in yourself. The play and metaphors become a container for what spoken word may not fully describe.

My clinical experiences include working in education, charity and public health, forensic services and private practice with a range of individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

A story untold is a story unheard, and I believe your story deserves the light. If you want to begin sharing your story, you can contact me here, and if you’re not quite ready I hope you can come back at your own pace.

Welcome!

Weronika

What is Dramatherapy

Greenhouse therapy room table with activities

Dramatherapy is a form of Psychotherapy. Dramatherapists are both clinicians and artists that draw on their knowledge of theatre and therapy to use as a medium for psychological therapy that may include drama, story-making, music, movement, and art; to work with any issue that has presented itself.

Dramatherapy holds, engages and explores the process of supporting you to rehearse, find resolutions in relation to the initial presenting difficulties and to support change. It is an inclusive therapeutic model that encourages mind-body integration, emotional growth and symptom relief.

Clients who are referred to a Dramatherapist do not need to have previous experience or skill in acting, theatre or drama.

Dramatherapy has many benefits for people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. It is designed to offer an alternative way of looking at these difficulties through a creative lens, rather than strictly talking about it. This way, clients can feel a shift in their presenting problems as well as finding ways of implementing change into their lives.

There is no requirement to have experience in drama, theatre or creative arts to engage with a dramatherapist; it is simply an additional way of exploring problems when traditional talking therapies may be limiting or challenging.

Many people who may struggle with talking about their situation may find dramatherapy a useful way to off-load real feelings and tensions without the need to talk about the presenting problem directly. This is because dramatherapy uses the body which holds many of our feelings, and acknowledges how integral it is to the therapeutic process.

If you feel this way of working could be helpful to relieve some of those difficult experiences, then reach out today!

My son has his spark back

My son attended sessions online for a year and I was worried this kind of therapy wouldn’t work online, but my son has got his spark back and I am grateful we trusted the process.
